| Facilities In keeping with our objective of
minimizing our investment in Clubhouse facilities, while maximizing our time
spent with other members on our boats in Avalon, Dana Point, the Isthmus, etc.
or along the dock in Newport, our physical facilities are admittedly somewhat
conservative, as you can readily see.

As someone from the Dana West
Yacht Club once said: "Just open the garage door and, voila, you have an
instant yacht club!"
We house our facilities and
equipment in a double wide garage. The inside of the Clubhouse is paneled
and carpeted. There is a row of cabinets across the rear, which we use for
serving entrées, desserts, etc. We have a gas barbeque, refrigerator,
popcorn machine, coffee pot, karaoke machine for our collection of CD's, a huge
library of paperback books, and enough banquet tables and upholstered chairs to
seat 50 or more people at one time.
For large events, as you can see,
we spill out of our facility into the parking lot for "elegant patio dining."
In the event of inclement weather, we have two large tents and two gas heaters that we can erect to
keep everyone dry and warm.
Suffice it to say, we never let
our facilities get in the way of having a good time. Ask anyone from the
Dana West Yacht Club about the BBYC & its facilities and you will likely learn
that it is one of their favorite stops on their cruise schedule. |
